XLN on Fifth is hosting the first annual Donald Griffith Legacy Tournament to benefit the American Cancer Society.

The double-elimination 8-ball tournament and fundraiser will take place on October 4 at 2109 E. Fifth Street in Tyler.

This day is more than just a tournament, it is a tribute to Donald Griffith, founder and heart of XLN, who passed away in April after a courageous battle with cancer. This day is about legacy, hope and rallying together for a cause that touches so many.

In addition to the pool matches, attendees can look forward to a raffle featuring prizes donated by local businesses, drink specials, and opportunities to connect with friends and neighbors — all while supporting the fight against cancer.

Many local businesses and individuals have already contributed as sponsors of the event or by donating products and services to be raffled off. Opportunity remains available for those wishing to help us in honoring a legacy, building community, and bringing hope to others.

“XLN is more than a pool hall, it’s a gathering place for community,” said Kelly Griffith-Fields. “With this tournament we celebrate my dad’s legacy and love for the game while rallying with others and hoping to make a difference in the fight against cancer.”

Founded in 2005 by Donald and Robin Griffith, XLN on Fifth has been a part of Tyler’s social and recreational scene for nearly two decades. Known for its welcoming atmosphere, and fostering a love of the game, XLN continues to be a place “where good times and good friends come together.”

Doors open at 10am, while the tournament begins at 11am and raffle prizes will be drawn throughout the day. For more details RSVP to the Legacy Tournament event on XLN’s Facebook page.
